Big Data Week Leeds 2016 ran from October 24-30 across the city centre, involving academics, businesses, associations and others in a wide range of free to attend lectures, workshops and social events.
Big Data Week aims to stimulate discussion and the sharing of best practice across the public and private sectors, as we work together to consider such issues as the ethics of data ownership and the likely impact of the Internet of Things. We give space also to detailed consideration of the practical use of Big Data methodologies for specific job roles and industries.
The city sponsor in 2016 was Alscient, who are grateful to a number of event sponsors and guest speakers, including The University of Leeds, CityFibre and Beneden Healthcare.
Looking forward to 2017…from lectures to live experiments, round tables to demonstrations, we aim to offer opportunities for business leaders, IT professionals, students and members of the general public who want to hear from those working at the leading edge of analytics and visualisation.
